Become a Billet Family
The Kapuskasing Flyers are requesting any parties who may be interested in billeting for this season to review the following information.
The hockey club greatly values the billet families that host the Kapuskasing Flyers players when they are away from their homes during the hockey season. Without the help of billet families, the players would not be able to play for the team. Billet’s are invaluable to the Kapuskasing Flyers and we appreciate all of their hard work.
Billeting can be a very exciting and rewarding experience. As a billet family you play a very important role. By opening your home to the players you provide them with a stable and secure home away from home. There are many long lasting friendships that develop between players and billets.

Billets will receive compensation, 2 season tickets and Flyers merchandise.
Responsibilities/expectations of billet families
Billet families are expected to play a guardian role, meaning that they are not the parents.
1. Am I responsible to bring the player to practices, games or to the arena for road trips?
In principle yes, but in many instances the players may walk to the arena (if they live in proximity), ride with players that have a car, etc. If a billet family cannot bring a player, they can contact the coaching staff to make arrangements.
2. What is the relationship between billet families and parents?
Usually, the billet family, players and parents sit together at the start of the season to discuss house rules, expectations, etc.
3. Is the billet family responsible meals and snacks? How about road trip meals?
Yes, generally breakfast and supper, and snacks to a reasonable extent. Additional snacks, the are above of what is reasonable, shall be out of pocket expenses for the parents/players. The billet family is not responsible for preparing and/or packing a lunch for road trips.
4. Do I get compensation for being a billet family?
Yes, $500 at the start of each month.
